How to sell your NFT and make money?
Before we start by explaining how you can create your first NFT collection, we strongly recommend that you have at least the basic skills and how to create a transparent image.
These skills will particularly help you when it comes to creating a collection.
One of the easiest ways to create a custom template for your NFT is in Adobe Photoshop .
For this tutorial, we will be using a unique NFT which is called “ Crypto TreePlant ” and is created on the online 3D modeling website, called SculptureGL and then exported to Adobe Photoshop so that it can have a transparent background and be finished with better quality.
Step 1: Create your NFT collection (or piece of art)
When making an NFT collection, the first thing you should think about creating is the properties of your non-fungible token.
Our NFT will have the properties "mouth", "eyes", "background", etc., and we have created 20 items for each property, as shown below:
It would take hours and even days to create hundreds of NFTs by the end of your collection it is very confusing to decide which item should be rarer than the others (for example 0.1% of all NFTs are with a green background).
That is why, to save you hours of time and confusion, we will now explain how to automate this process using an online NFT generator service.
IMPORTANT TIP: Before you begin, make sure that:
- All properties are images of the same size (in our case 300 × 300 pixels).
- The "background" property is the first and the other properties are transparent images.
- Properties designed to fit in the mouth, for example, need to be placed over the NFT's mouth so that they fit snugly when placed on top of each other.
Having said that, the time has come to create your first NFT collection so that you can sell NFTs later.
1. Go to the online service, called NFT Generator :
2. As you can see from the image above, we have created all the properties in the upper left corner and set them in a specific order so that the generator can overlap them.
Make sure you create them in the exact order they would be generated.
3. When you are done creating your layers, go to each layer and load the specific property that corresponds to it, as shown below:
IMPORTANT TIP: The rarity percentage or how often the object should appear on the NST can be changed by clicking on the top right corner of each property, where the percentages “6.25%” are shown in the demonstration image above.
By reducing the percentages, the NFT that has this specific property becomes more precious among all the others in the collection.
4. From the right panel, select the size of the collection (we typed 100 starting with) and then go to the left and click Generate Collection to start the process.
It may take some time, so be patient.
When NFTs are generated, they will appear as a download request for an archive on your browser so that you can save them in an easy-to-find place.
Congratulations! If you have followed all the steps correctly, you have now created your first NFT collection. Now let's load it up and make some money!
Step 2: Coin your NFT collection on Opensea
Now that you have successfully created your first collection, it is time to go public in the largest marketplace currently for NFT, called Opensea.
1. Go to the Opensea homepage and click in the top right corner, where it says Create. You should see the following page:
2. Select a cryptocurrency wallet and validate it. If you don't have one, we recommend that you create a Metamask wallet and download its extension for Google Chrome to use it with Opensea - It's quick and easy.
After logging into your meta-mask wallet, the website will send him the prompt, which you should sign:
3. If you did it correctly, you should see the “Create” next page.
Inside, upload your created NFT as a photo and give it a name.
For collections, it is recommended to use numbers as this is the most familiar way
4. Add a description for this specific item.
For example describe its number or its properties or you can also use the same description for each NFT in the collection.
Make sure the description is well written and clear to understand:
5. Under the collection, you will see the properties.
Simply open the window and type all the properties you have already created into the NFT generator (it's a good idea to name each of them, for example blue sunglasses, etc.).
6. To mint your NFT for free, it is recommended to add it to the Polygon network.
Minting on Ethereum requires a one-time fee from your wallet so you can use it to mint NFTs later, which isn't exactly free.
The use of the Polygon network allows you to take advantage of the gasless network (without gas).
7. Once you have finished setting all the properties for your NFT, simply click “ Create ” and that's it!
Now that you've successfully created your NFT, it's time to put it up for sale . To do this, complete the following simple steps:
1. Click on your profile picture at the top right and open My Collections :
2. From your collection, select the NFT you just uploaded to open its profile:
3. When you enter your non-fungible token profile, make sure you click the " Sell " button in the top right corner:
4. On the " Sell " page, select the price, quotation period and click on " Complete List " to list your NFT:
5. If you did this correctly, your items should appear in your collection with a low price. Now they can be seen publicly:
Congratulations! Now you know how to create and mint an NFT on Opensea!
Bonus Step: Enhance your profile and make it known
Many people list their NFT projects but wonder why they weren't successful and why nobody wants to buy them.
The secret lies in the way you market your product.
That's why, we suggest that you customize your profile to include all the different social media sites and a great description that explains your project's mission.
This is very important, as people will perceive you as a legitimate artist and buy your NFTs.
Here are some quick tips on how to improve your profile:
1. Click on your profile picture at the top right and go to "settings".
2. Personalize your profile with relevant information by adding all the social media profiles of your NFT, an avatar picture and a background thumbnail.
3. You can also customize your collection by adding a description and adding more information to it. You can do this by opening " My collections " and then clicking on the three dots at the top right of your collection, after which, clicking on "edit".
